Hi, I’m Md. Firozur Rahman, although most people know me simply as Firoz.
I live in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and I grew up in Pabna, where I spent most of my childhood around gardens, open fields, and the kind of soil that turns into a swamp the moment the monsoon arrives and cracks dry within weeks after it ends. Professionally, I work as a Senior Deputy Manager at an engineering company. My career revolves around business development, technical discussions, planning, and solving practical problems.
Outside of work, however, I’ve always been driven by something different — curiosity. I’ve never been satisfied with simply knowing what works. I’ve always wanted to understand why it works.
How My Journey Started
A few years ago, I was dealing with a very ordinary problem: a small patch of lawn at home that turned into mud every rainy season and into dry, patchy dirt every summer. I started looking into artificial turf almost by accident, mostly to see if it was a realistic alternative.
What I found online didn’t feel like it was written for someone actually trying to solve the problem. Almost every guide I came across was written for a mild, dry climate — installation advice that never mentioned what happens to a turf base during three straight months of heavy rain, or how different infill types actually behave in high humidity.
The more I researched, the more questions I had that nobody seemed to be answering directly. So I started digging deeper — manufacturer spec sheets, installer forums, drainage and infill documentation, and eventually small-scale testing of my own. What started as solving one backyard problem slowly turned into a genuine, ongoing interest in how artificial turf actually performs once the sales pitch is over.
What I Know — and What I Don’t
I am not a licensed landscaping contractor, and I don’t pretend to be one. What I am is someone who reads spec sheets carefully, tests what I can test myself, and refuses to repeat a claim just because it’s the fifth site that’s said the same thing.
Whenever I write about a topic here, I try to look at it from more than one angle — manufacturer documentation, installer experience, independent testing, and my own hands-on observations where that’s possible. If I haven’t personally tested something, I say so. If sources disagree, I explain why instead of quietly picking one and hiding the disagreement.
I don’t believe anyone knows everything about this subject, and I’m genuinely still learning — testing new infill types, tracking how my own turf holds up season after season, and updating what I’ve written whenever I learn something that changes the answer.
The Gap I Discovered
The frustrating part wasn’t that there was too little information about artificial turf. It was that there was too much of the same information, repeated without much thought.
Most guides cover the same handful of topics — installation steps, a pros-and-cons list, a vague mention of cost — and stop there. Very few address what actually goes wrong after installation, how turf behaves in humid or heavy-rain climates, which specific infill solves an odor problem rather than just masking it, or what a beginner should realistically budget for beyond the turf itself.
I wasn’t looking for another generic “ultimate guide.” I was looking for someone to just answer the actual question.
My Mission
This website exists because I believe good information should help people make a decision with confidence, not leave them with more open tabs than they started with.
Every article here follows the same approach: research before opinion, real testing where it’s possible, and a clear explanation of the trade-offs instead of a one-size-fits-all recommendation.
I’m not trying to publish the largest artificial turf site on the internet. I’m trying to build the one I wish I had found when I was standing in my own backyard, trying to figure out if turf was actually the right call.
